These paintings are about the spaces in which I live and work. Windows and mirrors provide structure and the opportunity for a more complex space in the pictures. Working close to my subject allows me to paint things so that they appear to be close to life-size, or larger, and contributes to some degree of distortion. Although I begin objectively, a combination of different points of view, varying light sources and working on paintings over a long period of time, means that the end result is more subjective.
