AN ARTIST'S

NAME

Laura Holliday BA Hons, MA (RCA)

My work is made from a combination of found objects such as shoes, gloves, electrical fittings, broken toys, kitchen utensils, plastic odds and ends, papier mâché, collage and watercolour.

It is important to me that all materials used are recycled. Wastepaper is combined with objects from pavement, beach, anywhere and everywhere. This gives discarded useless items another identity, a new lease of life. My small pieces grow organically from the objects that inspire them. I aim to give them presence, personality and movement. The wall reliefs are a distillation of my feelings and reactions to people. Their experiences, relationships and situations have sparked my imagination and sympathy in some way.
