Now retired, my current work reflects my training and background as a graphic designer who started work in the pre-computer time of hot-metal typesetting. This required a meticulous attention to detail when specifying the typesetting and print production of any piece of commercial printing, to ensure the intended result of the original design. Typesetting and printing, with their guilds and unions, had a similar hands-off relationship to the graphic designer as builders have to architects today. Designers were not the typesetters or printers. However the introduction of computers has revolutionised the graphic arts. Now, I not only design and illustrate, but typeset and print 'in house,' without restriction.

*Teatime at Dyffryn alludes to the afternoon teas that were reported to have taken place in the newly built Pompeian garden room, completed 1909 in Dyffryn Gardens. Set in 55 acres, located only 6 miles from the centre of Cardiff, Dyffryn Gardens is noted for the recently restored series of garden rooms. This print was produced in response to the centenary of the Pompeian garden room.
